My sister came over last weekend and played with the kids so Tim and I were able to buckle down and get some serious work done on Alice. It is so great to have a couple of hours with no kid responsibility to work on Alice with only a few interruptions instead of the normal every few minutes of question asking and fight moderating.
I worked on rivet removal with Tim worked on the fuse box
As always we labelled all the wires.
Even these mystery wires.
Tim is guessing the wires are for tank sensors. These wills stay a mystery until we demo the subfloor.
Then it was time to take down walls.
And behind every inner skin is more mice nests.
And more mice poop.
Have I mentioned how much I hate this insulation and how great it is to be getting rid of it?!
And then there was more rivet removal.
We still won’t let the kids inside Alice (bad air quality is just the beginning of the dangers in the Airstream right now) but they are so curious and excited about our progress that they just stand in the doorway and watch.
Patrick was hoping to see another mouse skeleton. Lucky for us, there wasn’t one to see this time! There was however a stench that TIm and I have grown used to that Patrick wasn’t quite ready for!
Here she is with all the insulation out.
Next weekend the endcaps and the last of the skins come down and we are done with skins!
